The story of Ropamujerbonita.com begins with my mom, Olga Babativa. She sold catalog clothing to her friends, and I wanted to help her grow her business. That’s how Ropamujerbonita.com® was born at the end of 2019, as an idea to boost her venture. We started looking for suppliers with 100% Colombian, innovative and comfortable garments.
The story of Ropamujerbonita: the challenges of the pandemic
Then came the pandemic, full of challenges. We overcame them with dedication, creativity and effort. At first we only listed women’s pajamas, especially thermal ones. The next step was finding an authorized courier. During the lockdown, he was a key piece in the brand’s growth. During that time I also used our website to run marketing labs and put my theories on digital sales into practice.
After a year of challenges and creativity, we wanted to expand into new market segments. We found new 100% Colombian suppliers of sportswear and knitted sweaters. The latter were our first step into the world of knitwear. Over time we noticed that women loved this kind of garment, so we expanded the catalog with products that are now icons of the brand, such as the ruanas. They were very well received and were key to establishing our identity.
New categories: lingerie, bridal and jewelry
The idea behind our brand has always been to highlight the beauty of Colombian women. We also want to support national industry with Colombian manufacturers. That’s why we added lingerie, a symbol of beauty and female empowerment. Alongside it came a category called “Bridal“, which includes not only lingerie but also elegant pajamas and robes, perfect for a wedding.
We know Colombian women love to complete their looks with accessories full of personality and style. That’s why the Jewelry category became key to complement the ruanas, cardigans and sweaters in our store. Today they’re our customers’ favorites.
A registered trademark with a vision for the future
Over these years we’ve worked to strengthen our website and position the brand. Step by step, we grew until we successfully registered the brand with Colombia’s Superintendence of Industry and Commerce, becoming a registered trademark. What’s next for Ropamujerbonita.com®? We’re taking our first steps as manufacturers, because we always want to contribute to the development and growth of our country.
